C’s Story

When I first connected with Sound Outreach in November 2024, my credit was in the mid-500s. I was working through a temp agency and living in clean-and-sober housing, trying to rebuild my life but not sure where to start.

My coach and I set clear goals: pay off old debts, build a real budget, and start saving. It felt overwhelming at first, but step by step, I stayed committed.

Over the next few months, things started to change. I enrolled in college classes, landed a full-time permanent job, and continued meeting regularly with my coach. Together, we paid off every debt on my credit report, built positive credit habits, and I was able to save more than $2,000—something I never thought I could do.

Today, my credit score is above 680. I recently accepted a new job with a $4.50 pay increase, and my girlfriend and I are moving into our own apartment as we get ready to welcome our first child.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come—and grateful for the support that helped me get here. This is just the beginning.
