Many thanks to the Washington State Department of Commerce for our grant to “support financial coaching for underserved communities that have been impacted by ‘enforcement of state criminal laws and penalties for drug possession,’ according to a Commerce release. The grants are being funded by the Washington State Community Reinvestment Account. Financial resources will prioritize Black, Latine, and tribal communities but are not limited to these communities alone, the release noted. Mentorship and financial coaching offered by the funding looks to recognize and honor cultural heritage and backgrounds and will include homebuyer education, business coaching, debt remediation, construction loans, and more, the release added.” More information on South Sound Magazine:
