History
In 1996, Senior Outreach Services was launched to fill a gap in the availability of outreach services to seniors and people with disabilities in Pierce County. In 2001, we broadened our services, becoming South Sound Outreach Services. Today, we are simply, Sound Outreach, assisting residents suffering from financial insecurity through financial counseling, employment coaching and access to financial capital. As part of the United Way’s Center for Strong Families movement we are helping to lift 15,000 families out of poverty by 2028.
